Our beautiful woodland grounds

We are situated in a woodland estate, here at Rossie, in Angus in the North East of Scotland. There is an abundance of amazing plants and wild flowers in our grounds. Please see our gallery for some of the varieties in flower today (May 2021). We also grow flowers in the gardens nearer the houses where our young people develop their gardening skills. Although we have had a wet start to spring, there is still a lot in bloom. At the moment the attractive food sources for bees will be the flowering gorse and broom, and the oil seed rape fields lining our roadsides. They will also be gathering the early sap from trees to use as propolis. This is a waxy substance that they use to waterproof the hive and varnish their surroundings. It is known as bee glue.
