Some history of our bees' habitat

This old map shows the Rossie land where our apiary will begin. Our bee colony will live and grow in 150 acres of mature woodland - an area of outstanding natural beauty. The map shows a time from before the 1960's when the establishment was known as Rossie Farm School. The old school is shown lower middle on this map. Since then we have a new building in front of the old campus (built in 2008 - not shown on this map). The old building is still there, and used for other, more up to date purposes. Although Rossie was a farm, there are no records that we know of that tell us there were ever bees here. Perhaps this project is the first of its kind in Rossie history - or in the history of secure and residential care of this model in Scotland?!
